About Neda
I’m Neda, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, counsellor, psychotherapist, and university lecturer with more than 15 years of experience supporting people through life’s challenges, transitions, and periods of uncertainty.
My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and practical. I believe that people are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to provide a safe, respectful space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Together, we can explore what is happening beneath the surface, recognise patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop strategies that create meaningful and lasting change.
I have experience supporting people living with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, disability, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, chronic health conditions, and major life changes. I also work with people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure about what needs to change.
My therapeutic approach is tailored to each person and draws from evidence-based methods, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed practice. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Therapy should reflect your experiences, needs, culture, values, and goals.
Alongside my clinical work, I teach social work at university and contribute to research focused on improving social work education and placement experiences. My background across mental health, disability, rehabilitation, advocacy, NDIS, and aged care has given me a strong understanding of both personal challenges and the complex systems people often need to navigate.
Above all, I want therapy to feel human. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can begin wherever you are and work together at a pace that feels right for you.
